Next intakes: February and July (Dates for Auckland Campus to be confirmed). The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science offers a selection of courses designed to meet the needs of health practitioners, health sector managers and other professionals whose practice has a focus on health.

Each course consists of blended and online learning opportunities and in some cases clinical fieldwork. You will be expected to spend subsequent time in independent study, critical reflection, and field work in your place of study or place of work.

Post Graduate Diploma In Health Science - Study Pathways

Interdisciplinary graduates of the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science may apply to progress on to the EIT Master of Health Science programme, and registered nurse graduates may apply to progress on to the EIT Master of Nursing programme.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science is approved by the Nursing Council of New Zealand as an “advanced nursing practice programme”.

ENTRY CRITERIA

ACADEMIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The requirement for entry is an undergraduate degree in a health science/ health discipline with a B average or better.

Where an applicant does not hold an undergraduate degree in health science, submissions with supporting professional evidence may be considered.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Masters applicants will require an IELTS score of 6.5 in all bands, in one exam sitting.

Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science will require an IELTS score of 6.5 (Academic) with no score lower than 6.0, in one exam sitting.
